The National Coalition of Eye Care IPA’s (Independent Professional Associations) is a national association of eye care professionals brought together through their various states’ IPA’s. The association of these eye care professionals and their respective state organizations will benefit from the support of this organization in the following ways:

Vision Care Direct (VCD) is a specially designed vision benefit plan with a variable menu of options for employer groups and individuals. The many options offered affords the employer and employee an opportunity to choose one plan that makes the most comfortable fit for their situation. VCD is doctor controlled. You as the doctor, with your IPA, choose the fees you want to accept. This plan allows you the doctor to compete in the managed care arena with your own vision plan. The flexibility and cost effectiveness of these plans benefit both the patients and the member doctors. Preferred Vendor Program is another benefit to the IPA and the individual doctor practice. This is a program set up by the coalition that utilizes our large network of providers. The program will help the independent practitioner receive some of the best discounts on products used in their office. These vendors also share the vision of the coalition in improving the practices of independent Optometry and the delivery of health care to their patients. IPA Development is a critical element for which every state needs to develop their own organization of independent professionals. Each state must develop an IPA so they can compete in the managed care arena with their own vision care plan controlled by their doctors. We will help you facilitate the development of a new IPA or an expansion of an existing IPA.
